      After the meetings in Scotland and Belfast last May 2009, the World Officers thought it was necessary to meet again.  So we scheduled May 4-6, 2010 for a World Officers Meeting at Alma Mathews House in New York, New York, USA.

      Top most in the agenda were matters pertaining to the 12th World Assembly which will be held on August 10-15, 2011 at Indaba Hotel & Conference Center, Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa.

      The program is carefully shaped to build up the chosen Assembly theme: “Bambelela, Christ Is Our Hope.”  Amidst all chaos and problems in the world these days caused by war, crimes, violence, bombings, abuses to the environment, etc., indeed, it is hard to find hope.  But how wonderful to realize that Christ, our Savior is always there to give HOPE which this world we live in cannot give, hence, the relevance of the Assembly theme.

      Among the more important discussions/actions taken in said meeting were:

      1]. Change of World Assembly dates to August 10-15, 2011;

      2]. Strong emphasis on participants who will arrive earlier than August 10 [dinner time] or will stay later than August 15 [after breakfast] to shoulder their expenses on lodging and meals, and they be held responsible in making reservations with Indaba Hotel;

      3]. Invitation letters for visa application purposes are already sent to Executive Committee members and Unit Presidents but the World Secretary can be contacted anytime for need of more invitation letters;

      4.] Registration will be available on line but hard copies will be sent to those who do not have access to internet;

      5]. Need for at least two [2] translators/interpreters for each of these languages: Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Korean and Mandarin; please contact the World President;

      6]. Need for a volunteer Musical Director at the World Assembly, contact the World President, please;

      7] Recommendation to increase the US$75 per Unit contribution for HKS program to US$100; and

      8]. Proposals for constitutional amendments to be sent to all Units for their review and comments.  But Units could also come up with their own proposals and send to the Constitutional Amendment Committee at the dates specified in the Constitution.

      Let us plan to attend the 12th World Assembly in 2011 and pray that we will be blessed and also become blessings to others.

         Sister in Christ,
              Chita

Verse of The Day

“What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you-guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” (2 Timothy 1:13-14)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
